RothGPT for Claude

Setup & Usage

RothGPT models your complete retirement-account lifecycle to get Roth conversion decisions precisely right. The Claude connector lets you run that analysis conversationally — just ask, and Claude returns your recommendation and explains it.

Requirements

Connect RothGPT to Claude

  1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and click + (Add custom connector).
  2. Paste this server URL:
    https://rothgpt-mcp.onrender.com/mcp
  3. When prompted, sign in with Google or email (authentication is handled by WorkOS). New users complete a short profile on first use.
  4. Start with: “Show my RothGPT inputs.”

What you can ask

The connector exposes four tools. You don't call them directly — just ask in plain English and Claude picks the right one.

Show inputs

Your current profile and assumptions (balances, Social Security, return rates, distribution method, Medicare coverage, tax-payment source), grouped as givens, assumptions, and levers.

“Show my RothGPT inputs.”

Run a conversion analysis

Runs a fresh analysis and returns the recommended conversion: how much to convert and through which bracket, the present-value alpha and its components, the conversion (tC) and distribution (tD) tax rates, the Roth-value/funding effect, and — for outside-funded tax — the conversion IRR versus your portfolio benchmark. Any input you mention is applied first; anything you omit keeps its saved value. Side effects: updates your saved inputs and creates a new calculation run.

“Run my Roth conversion analysis with traditional savings of $650,000.”

See the full conversion ladder

Every conversion option from the latest run — each cumulative bracket level and each incremental per-bracket slice, with amounts, tax rates, present-value alpha components, and IRR.

“Show the full conversion ladder so I can compare brackets.”

See year-by-year detail

The year-by-year retirement projection for one conversion level — after-tax cash flows, Traditional/Roth balances and distributions, taxable Social Security, federal tax, statutory and SS-torpedo-adjusted marginal rates, IRMAA surcharges/savings, and MAGI.

“Show the year-by-year detail for the recommended level.”
